Is married with four children. He is a County Councillor, a member of the Cabinet, a school Governor, a member of the County's Combined Fire & Rescue Authority and a Peer Advisor to other Local Authorities on Children's Services and Fire & Rescue matters.

David serves on the Cabinet as Executive Lead Member for Children's Services & Education and he is a member of the Building Land and Procurement Panel. His wife, Tracey, is the Conservative Agent for the North West Hampshire Parliamentary Constituency.

Roy Perry- elected to Hampshire County Council for the Romsey Extra Division ( where he lives) in 2005

Roy was elected Deputy Leader of the County Council in 2008 in succession to Michael Woodhall.

He is Chairman of the Hampshire Strategic Partnership and the County Strategic Crime Reduction Partnership and a member of the Hampshire Senate, Chairman of the County Steering Group on Domestic Abuse and Co-Chairman of the Hampshire Interfaith Network.

Prior to election to the County Council he was for 10 years Member of the European Parliament for Hampshire and between 1985 and 1994 was Leader of Test Valley Borough Council- 

His daughter Caroline Nokes is the MP for Romsey and Southampton North which she gained from the Liberal Democrats in the 2010 General Election with a majority of 4,165 votes on a swing of 4.5%- having just failed to win the seat in 2005 by 125 votes.
