Alexis is married to Mick and they have one grown up son. She and her husband have successfully run the Langley Village Restaurant since 1981. In 1998 she graduated from the Open University with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree, specialising in Politics and International Studies and in June 2009, she was elected as the County Councillor for South Waterside.

Alexis is a member of Hamphire County Council's:

Alexis is the County Council's representative on:

Alexis has also been a Governonr at Brockenhurst College since 2002.

Alexis has a long track record of serving the local community. This began in 1997 when she was first elected as the County Councillor for Fawley. That term ended in 2001 and two years later she became a Fawley Parish Councillor for four years where she chaired the Policy & Resources committee and was elected Chairman of the Council for two years running. During that time, she also successfully chaired PRIME. (Problem Resolution In a Multi-Agency Environment). In 2007 Alexix was elected to New Forest District Council as Councillor for Fawley, Blackfield and Langley. She sits on the Leisure, Culture & Youth Matters Review Panel and the Corporate Overview Panel as well as being Chirman of the Crime & Disorder Scrutiny Review Panel.
