Conservatives Delivering The Lowest Council Tax

Basingstoke and Dene has the lowest Council Tax of any shirein England and Fareham has the second lowest. Test Valley has the third lowest in Hampshire and the 5th lowest council tax in England

These lowest Council Taxes for the Hampshire Districts are all in Conservative controlled authorities. Since the County Council manages the really expensive services- social, education, highways etc, a lot of the credit for such a good showing in the national picture goes to the low tax (precept) set by HCC and the tight control it has over county finances in Hampshire

This achievment of 3 of the 5 lowest district council taxes in the country is all the more remarkable when you consider the government allocates Hampshire residents the lowest revenue support grant in the country- just 113 per head against an average of over 160 per head.
